2021 Program Information (Burlington Minor Lacrosse)

Print2021 Program Information

The BMLA registration is now open!  We are starting programming the week of June 14 now that public health limits are lifted.  Registration is now open for box lacrosse (rep and house league), girls field lacrosse (rep and learn-to-play) and Sr. Women’s lacrosse (“LoLAX”).

Unfortunately at this time we do not have direction if the OLA still intends on running a Boys Rep Field season and registration is not open for this programming.  Please continue to watch our website and social media for updates.

How do I register?

The link to register in the OLA registration program is here:

Special notes:

  • Those looking for Paperweight Select should register for Paperweight House League (U7).  There will be an additional $60 fee owed at a later date for Paperweight Select.

  • Those looking to register for Ladies of Lacrosse should register under the “Sr Rep Womens Field Lacrosse 2021” product.

  • Those looking for the Girls Field “Learn-to-Play” should register under a Girls Field House League product.

  • Please beware of the correct age groups when selecting products.  The product should be the youngest eligible age group.  For example, a 2012 aged-child should register for U11 even though it may allow selection of a U13 (or higher) aged product.

What programming is being offered?

When facilities become available, we are running programming for rep-box, house league and women's field (both rep and learn-to-play) that will be two-sessions per week for eight weeks. As it stands today, we are aiming to begin Rep Box and Women's Field activities the week of June 14 following provincial guidelines for 10 players per field.

House league box lacrosse activities will begin two weeks later and will be two-sessions per week for six weeks.

Our LOLAX offering, which stands for Ladies of Lacrosse; targets U19 (previously the Intermediate age group) and up. We are looking to have 4 teams play one night a week. This covers women of all skill levels who would like to play and have some fun.

Dates, length of programming, and number of sessions could change based on decisions and guidance from provincial and local governments, as well as facility / field availability from the City.

Will there be games?

Yes, if we are allowed under public health guidance. We have reached out to a few neighbouring organizations to try and schedule games starting in Stage 2.

Those familiar with rep programming should not expect formal league play, tournaments or provincial championships.

What are the fees?

  • Rep Box:  $215 (Note:  Includes the cost of up to three games for Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget aged teams).
  • House League Tyke-Bantam:  $150
  • Small Fries (Peanut-Paperweight):  $115
  • Women’s Rep Field: $200 (Note: Additional fees may be required for rep games to pay for facility rentals and game officials.  These will be communicated to parents as they are known.)
  • Women’s Field Learn-to-Play: $130
  • Ladies of Lacrosse (LoLAX):  $130
All cancellations are subject to a $25 admin fee.  The covers the non-refundable costs paid by Burlington Lacrosse to our governing body.

What is the expected schedule?

We have established a schedule starting June 14th.  Depending on numbers we may use the first two weeks for "rep assessments”.  Each team rep box team should plan on carrying 20 players at the max as that will allow for two cohorts for gathering restrictions (expected to a maximum of 10 in stage 1).  Each girls field rep team should plan to carry a maximum of 12 players to meet expected outdoor gathering restrictions.

Rep Box Schedule

U13,U15,U17 will run once a week with potential for exhibition/Intra-squad games in stage 2. (approx. July 5th)

All other age groups will run twice a week with potential for exhibition games/Intra Squad in stage 2.

Will There be Safety Protocols?

Yes, a BMLA safety protocol will be drafted and communicated to participants to ensure we are keeping our players, coaches and families safe.

These safety protocols will use the OLA return to activity guide and be tailored to meet City of Burlington requirements.

For reference the previously drafted OLA protocols can be reviewed with the link following.  They may be subject to change based on the recently released Provincial reopening plan.
