Return to Play - Programs (Burlington Minor Lacrosse)

PrintReturn to Play - Programs

With all of the positive feedback from our Return to Activity (RTA) offered in August we are excited to announce that the BMLA will be hosting a Fall Session of RTA!

This program is open to all players from Small Fries through Midget, house league or rep, field or box and anyone who wants to try lacrosse for the first time.

Our BMLA field and box coaches, as well as our technical director, will be putting the players through various drills to develop important skills such as shooting, passing, cradling, Ä‘odging and general fitness. The sessions will be a compliment to both field and box players.  We will also be offering girls box and  girls field sessions.

We are looking at small format changes for this second round.  In addition to the skills development activities, we are looking to start some organised modified scrimmage sessions for players to apply these skills.

These sessions will take place at Ireland Park starting September 12 and will run for four weeks.

We have a detailed Return To Activity (RTA) Protocol we have reviewed with the city. Under Phase 3 we are permitted to have up to 40 people on an individual soccer field.  With two fields we can accommodate up to 80 people each hour.  We will still be following social distancing guidelines as outlined in our RTA protocol.  We will also be staggering start times to ensure we adhere to these limits.

A previous web session is available describing the protocol that must be adhered to by the BMLA, players, coaches and parents in order to maintain a safe playing environment.  Viewing the session recording is mandatory.  Please fill in the corresponding form after watching the recording.

New 2020 Registrants: $50 (includes $10 for mandatory OLA insurance)
Players previously registered for a 2020 Burlington Lacrosse program: $40

We have two registrations products available.  Please select the appropriate product based on the descriptions below.

2020 RTA- Refunded/Cancelled This applies to everyone that has registered at some point in 2020.

The includes: registrations for field, box, house league, rep, or just the Summer RTA sessions.  These all qualify as a prior registration.

*Note:  For those that previously left a registration credit with us you may see $0 owing for your registration.  This is because the system has picked up that you have a credit and automatically deducted your registration fees off of that credit.

2020 RTA- New Members  For new or returning members that did not register for any 2020 programs yet this year.

Will we play in inclement or hot weather?
Yes, we will play in all weather.  The only exceptions are for lightning or if the City closes the field because of bad field conditions.

How will we be notified of cancellations?
Social media, email and/or notices on our website.  If you have not received a cancellation, then we are still expecting to continue with sessions as scheduled.

What equipment should we wear?
