The boys field season wrapped up at the end of May and we want to take a moment to recognize the U17 major-aged players who stepped on the field for the last time as players with the BMLA.
We always want to recognize the young men who stick with our sport until they "age out". It is very easy to quit lacrosse, and even easier to quit field lacrosse in Ontario. The time commitment is tough, the weather usually sucks, and there always seems to be conflicts with hockey and box lacrosse. These boys have stuck with the sport, grown a love for it and deserve recognition for the hard work they've put in.
Sticks in the air for these guys (pictured left to right): John Logue, Bodhi Gillies, Matt Pecyna, Michael McBay, Brendan Keogh, Ryan Page, Ben Powell and Trent Schertzing. Missing due to injury: Oliver Treanor and Brennan Mee
Thank you to these young men for the dedication and commitment you have put to this sport, your clubs and our communities. We hope the friendships and relationships you developed while playing last a lifetime.
We also hope you find a way to stay active in the sport through play, coaching or officiating. The lacrosse community needs more people with the knowledge, passion and leadership these boys have!
Best wishes from the BMLA!!!
