About the Program:
In this league, our goal is to keep children safe while teaching them the fundamental skills of lacrosse, including how to navigate contact confidently and appropriately as they grow. Contact is introduced gradually and thoughtfully to ensure athletes have the time they need to understand how it works in this fast‑paced sport.
During practices, coaches lead specific drills focused on safe contact, including how to give contact properly and how to position the body to safely absorb contact. This structured approach helps build players’ skills, confidence, and awareness on the floor.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the Director of Girls Box Lacrosse at: [email protected]
Format:
Teams will receive one hour of floor time each week dedicated to practice and skill development.
Games are played widthwise on the floor, using foam barriers to divide the space into mini‑floors. This setup keeps games fun, fast, and engaging for all players.
Referees:
All of our referees are fully certified through the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA). They enforce OLA rules consistently to help ensure a safe and positive experience for every player on the floor.
