Girl's Non-Contact Box League (Burlington Minor Lacrosse)

Welcome to Our Girl's Non-Contact Box Lacrosse House League

Our girls box house league season runs from late April until the end of June.

It is anticipated that all practices and games will occur at Aldershot Arena, dependent on confirmation of arena availability by the City of Burlington.

NOTE: All times are tentative until registration is finalized.  

Registration:

Participants can register HERE for the Girl's Non-Contact Box Lacrosse House League. After creating and/or signing into your account, select 'New Registration', then 'BOX Girls HL (GoLax Box)' from the 2024 Box Season tab to register form the Girl's Non-Contact Box Lacrosse House League. 

About the Program:

This league is a 'non-contact' league where we aim to keep children safe and teach them the fundamental skills of lacrosse without the traditional contact component. Please note that collisions or stick contact (slashes to wrists, etc.) can occur. Coaches will do their best to avoid these circumstances, but they are part of the game.

Format:

Teams will have 1-hour floor time during the week for practice and skill development. Games which are one hour in length will follow on the weekend. The games will be played widthwise on the floor with foam barriers dividing the floor into 2 mini-floors.

 

Key Dates:

Back to Lacrosse Weekend - Saturday, April 20, 2024, Aldershot Arena:

• A great opportunity for players to get their stick back in their hands and to meet the coaches

 

Opening Weekend - April 27-28, 2024, Aldershot Arena:

• All teams practice on Saturday

• Regular schedule starts on Sunday

No Lacrosse Victoria Day weekend (May 18-19)

Closing Weekend - June 21-23, Appleby Ice Centre :

• Tournament Format (All Teams)

Equipment:

• Mandatory: gloves, helmet, stick, mouthguard

We are always looking for house league coaches and volunteers. Please email the Director of Girls Box Lacrosse ([email protected]) if you are interested in helping with a team. Please include your child’s name. High school students who have played lacrosse are also welcome to volunteer.
