COVID-19 UPDATE
Effective immediately we will be suspending all in person lacrosse activities until April 8th at the earliest.

Hello all Burlington Lacrosse families,

Due to the extreme circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, I sadly advise that Burlington Minor Lacrosse will be following the lead of our various levels of government and the OLA by calling a delay to the start of the 2020 season.  Effective immediately we will be suspending all in person lacrosse activities until at least April 8th at the earliest.  We will be keeping a sharp eye on the OLA announcements regarding further delays or outright cancellations and immediately inform the families if that is the outcome.

Clearly the greatest impact will be to our Boy Field program which has just completed tryouts and was to commence practices this evening.  We had already cancelled tonight’s activities assuming the worst.  The impact on the box season at this time is minimal and we will continue under the assumption that it is business as usual until directed otherwise.  April 5th is still prior to our planned tryout dates, with any luck we will be able to continue without pause.  Girls field and House League are both starting later in the season than Rep Box and hopefully will have no impact on their seasons.

The Board will be meeting shortly to discuss our options for Boys Field at which time an announcement will be sent out.  The first game weekend of the season is still slated for April 11 so if we restart on April 5th our boys could be a bit rusty, but then so will all the other teams.  Right now, the health and welfare of our Burlington families is all that matters.

As this is a rapidly evolving situation , we will be keeping an eye on the OLA website and our emails for any update to the status of the playing season and quickly get that out to everyone.  This is a rapidly evolving situation
