MapleStix Training Opportunity - Jan 7, 2023
In case you are not familiar with MapleStix, it is an annual 1-day lacrosse recruiting camp.  This year's MapleStix event will take place on January 7, 2023, 3:30pm-6:30pm, at Toronto SoccerPlex, 101 Railside Road, Toronto (near the DVP & Lawrence Avenue).

The vision for MapleStix is a not-for-profit three-hour indoor event focused on connecting players to OUA coaches. It is a counterweight to the brain drain that takes place every year when players decide to attend a U.S. school so they can play high level lacrosse.

The NCAA recruitment process can take a life of its own, and when a U.S. school offers a player a full or partial ride, players often forget that Canadian universities are high quality, affordable and located where students are more likely to want to make life & business connections. There are actually relatively few players who are too good for OUA, so we should be making players aware that the OUA offers a combination of reputable, affordable schools and high level lacrosse.

The hope of MapleStix is Canadian university lacrosse programs become stronger so Canadian players won't feel like they have to go south of the border to play high level lacrosse. If there are hundreds upon hundreds of American university women's teams, Canada's nine schools should at least be strong as they can be.

This opportunity for girls field lacrosse players born in 2010 or earlier is being run outside of the BMLA and more information can be found at the MapleStix website here:  http://www.maplestix.ca/index.html.
